Music for Kids at the Hollywood Bowl

Since 1968, the Hollywood Bowl has offered a festival of performing arts for young people during the summer. SummerSounds (formerly "Open House at the Hollywood Bowl"), features great concerts created especially for kids and a Fine Arts Outdoor Studio where they can let their imaginations soar.

The six-week series from July to August features two performances each weekday morning, at 10:00 and 11:15AM, designed for kids 3-10 years old.

Hollywood Bowl Museum

The Edmund D. Edelman Hollywood Bowl Museum

The Edmund D. Edelman Museum contains a one-of-a-kind interactive exhibit featuring the history of the Bowl in photographs, recordings, archival films, programs, and artifacts. A hands-on "Come Make Noise!" exhibit designed especially for children, invites interactive music-making, and demonstrates how musical sound is created in organ pipes, string instruments, chimes, drums, and gongs.

Currently on loan from UCLA are thirty-four musical instruments from around the world, and the GTE Museum Resource Center provides fun, easy-to-use computer stations from which to explore rare multi-media video, sound and images from Hollywood Bowl history.

Admission and parking are free. To arrange a school or group tour, email us or call 323.850.2058.
